Polish Society of Cinematographers was established in 1994. Its main aims from the very

beginning were: representation of cinematographers’ interests (mainly by protecting their copyrights), support of the initiatives which develop the art of filmmaking, and popularization

of the cinematography and photography theory. PSC constitutes of the winners of many festivals and professors of film schools and art universities, and gathers cinematographers who are world top class artists and their work is highly renowned. Its memers are, among others: Jolanta Dylewska, Paweł Edelman, Sławomir Idziak, Arthur Reinhart, Witold Sobociński and Jerzy Wójcik. For 4 years PSC gives the PSC Award for the best cinematography in a feature movie. The winners are: Arek Tomiak ("Manhunt"), Łukasz Żal i Ryszard Lenczewski ("Ida"), Piotr Sobociński jr ("Gods") and Arek Tomiak ("Karbala").
